Duckman8
Here is my problem. The four wheeler starts fine and runs for a little bit, but then starts to have problems running. It loses power. You hit the throttle and it just starts to die. It will run fine for a couple of minutes then i have issues. New battery, new air cleaner, new spark plug and I also put some seafoam in gas tank to help if carb was dirty. Is it a carb problem or a gas problem. I have not replace gas filter, but that can be done easily. I know it is getting gas to start because it will run for a little bit before issues which makes me think carb. Any comments or helpful ideas are welcome.
Macgyver55
Sounds like a candidate for a good carb cleaning. Its often the problem on wheelers that dont see a lot of use or long intervals between uses. Make sure to pay special attention to the pilot and main jets to insure they are open.
Duckman8
Thanks for the info. I suspected I would have to tear into the carb.
PurpleFloyd
I had one of them and it never ran or idled right from brand new. The dealer kept telling me while under warranty that those motors just took time to break in( Presumably until the warranty was up and they could charge me) So I took a chance and took it to a local Can Am dealer. He made a phone call to a friend who was a popo mechanic and was told the jetting was not right on those motors and to rejet it. Once he did that it ran without a hiccup for the rest of the time I owned it.
