I just picked up a couple spools of the new Nanofill to try out. I was gonna try the 12# on a new baitcaster but after reading the back it says it doesnt recomend using on baitcasters? Whats this all about? Anyone on here using this on baitcaster and have any problem? I dont want to reck my new $150 reel because of some line. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

i'm not sure, but i'd venture to guess that it wouldn't hurt your reel to use the line. Most likely it isn't recommended for baitcasters based on the performance and functionality of the line. It just works better on spinning. 2c

But I could be wrong, so don't blame me if your reel breaks. eek

Their HSOforum does not have any info on this. Email them and get an answer if you are interested.

Side Note:

They have changed the name of Palomar knot to their own on their HSOforum, they call it the NanoFil knot.

I bought some 6lb test and tried it on my spinning gear. Worked great for that. Mainly I wanted a line that casted easier and further than my 10 lb Fireline. I must say it glides through the guides like nothing else I've tried. Silent and soft is the best way to describe it. I wouldn't say I was casting a lot further, but I needed much less effort to get there. It was an enjoyable experience.

I also wanted to try trolling with it, and that worked out pretty well also. I tied a double uni to some 15 lb 100% Fluoro, and that knot seemed to hold up pretty good. Wanted some extra bite off resistance and some reduced visibility in clear water. The Nano is very thin, but it's still white as can be.

I think it'll work better on spinning, but go ahead and try it out. Can't beat 20-50# Power Pro for bait casters, just add a fluoro leader if you're concerned with visibility. 2c
