clubhouse lake not only is a great campground but got some of the best well water i have ever tasted. you dont need a boat to get panfish. they have a fishing dock on the lake and we have caught plenty of panfish from there as well as a few smallmouth and largemouth. my grandson had a great time also fishing off the boat landing after i put the boat back on the trailer. he didn't want to leave. also has a nice beach for swimming. good luck.

There is the campground on the Bigfork river just north of Effie. It is at Little American falls. If you take the road straight north of Effie and go straight until curves to the west and it will be the first left turn and there should be a sign as well. It was free and they even had made level areas for your tent.

I don't want to be contrary, but the Bigfork River is running pretty high and hard right now. I wouldn't want kids this young fishing too far out of arms' reach at Little American right now. Not much to catch there this time of year and this spot can get rowdy due to its' remoteness.

N.F. campgrounds at Clubhouse and Northstar would be better choices. There is a county campground east of Effie on Hwy 1 abot 10-15 miles out, but I haven't been out that way in years.
