Nolan
I had my best pike fishing day ever today and I just had to tell someone. The lake was just outside of Victoria and I was taking a freind who had never caught a pike before. She put on a pink spinnerbait and I put on white and we went on to completely slay them! 34 pike in 5 hours of fising. As we were releasing the baits they would come out and smack them, and we were getting doubles and they were biting boatside. Even had a few over 30 and one took a nice bite out of my thumb.... I just had to tell someone. Sooo fun! And all the fish were released to swim another day
Cloomis
Great story Nolan. Extremely jealous. Days like that don't come often!!
Nolan
I dont know what was going on with the fish, they were suicidal.. What topped it off was the 30th fish following the lure all the way to the boat side when we were reeling up to make another pass and having it smacked no more than arms reach away.. happened to be the big one of the day too! 34 inches! solbes
Sounds like a great day out on the water! I've come to appreciate pike more and more as the years have gone by. I still spend most of my evenings chasing walleyes, but to be brutally honest, pike fishing is just more fun as there lots of action. That many pike in a day sounds like an awesome time. 34" pike is pretty respectable anywhere as well.Did you notice any catches of the same fish? I've seen that once, caught the same pike twice on the same day. Had the same injury on it's back. Gotta respect their tenancity too.
Nolan
None of the same but one fish was missing one of its whole fins under its belly
J2M
I think I'm hooked on pikes also after catching my pb 35" this past Sunday on a Luckycraft Chartreuse Shad Pointer 100.
