Smoked Venison Question

I'm going to smoke a wild turkey breast this weekend. I have a nice venison roast I'd like to smoke at the same time. I've never smoked venison before. Does it need to soak in a brine? Or can I just put a dry rub on it, or inject it? What do you all do with venison on the smoker?

Don I have done all of what you mentioned and I think my favorite is the injected because I was adding moister to it. Veni tens to dry out faster and way more than beef.
