Minn Kota PDv2 replacement remote

Picked up the PDv2 with i-pilot & sonar installed. The remote was misplaced, so went & picked up a replacement remote. Read the owners manual to configure the new remote to the power head. When i press a button on the remote, all items on the screen light up for a few seconds then turn off. Remote will not configure.

Any ideas? thanks

Did you (learn)the new remote to the V2? There is a learn button on the head of the V2. your instruction booklet will explain how to do that.

The top of the Controller (i-Pilot control head) has a single learn button to allow additional remotes to be added to the system.

To learn additional remotes:

1. Power up the trolling motor.

2. Push and hold the learn button down. A steady audio tone will be heard while holding this button.

3. While holding the learn button down push any button on the remote being programmed. Three short chirps will be heard when the remote is successfully learned.
