? for Lowrance LCX-38 users

Question

My buddy has one in his boat and his tracks in Map work while we are out on Lake Superior but when we come in to the entry they just stop. Is there some type of feature that sets a distance when it start tracking. It was a pain not to have it when we were in a thick fog trying to get out on the lake and again when we came off. I have no problem with my LCX-25c and I have to delete my tracks sometimes because they get in the way. I took a quick look but could not see anything that looked wrong.

I don't remember exactly how to set it, but I think you go into the trails menu, highlight the active trail (ie. probably called Trail 1) and after you have it highlighted you can press enter or menu ---- and that should get you to some options where you can set how many data points it keeps for the trail, and how often it updates the trail. Hope that works and good luck!

I'm not sure what the answer to your question is, Jim, but I do know that I'd be VERY careful about relying on that track. They can be off quite a bit at times, which is why some guys get radar on their boats.
