You can google digger anchor and find out more, I've used one on my smaller Lund and it worked very well.Kind of spendy though.I've got an 18' Crestliner and use a waterspike to hold mine in the rough stuff. Both need alot of rope, like at least triple the depth your anchoring in.

I use a standard "Navy" or "Quickset (Danforth)" anchor with out any issues in currents and or winds. BUT I do use about 17' of chain between the anchor and my anchor rope (17'6" boat). Growing up in SE AK holding power is paramount in currents and wind. The chain reduces the amount of direct pull on the anchor by external forces. A rule of thumb is .5:1 to 1:1 chain to length of boat. And the chain should weigh as much to 1.5 times as the anchor ( iron(1.0) and aluminum (1.5)). When using chain you will find that you need to let out much less scope to hold you in place. Also IMO the

The downside of using this type of anchors is the amount of weeds it potentially pulls up. I can see the advantage of a digger anchor in that situation and not having to spend additional time ridding it of weeds.

Wow this ended up being kind of wordy.....sorry.

Love my Digger anchor as i will never purchase any other and they aren't that expensive when you consider it wont be replaced and its very hard to lose it underwater as it breaks away flush to retrieve..also no chain needed in my opinion just the extra rope length to get a solid grip.
