Broadcast Spreader for Fertilizer - Recommendations?

I'm in the market for a fertilizer spreader but do not want to break the bank. I also don't want something that is going to fail after one year of use. Is there a decent spreader out there for under $150 that anyone can recommend? I have a 0.5 acre lot so I don't need a tow behind spreader. I have been researching online and just cannot make up my mind.

The big orange box store has a Scott's edgeguard with rubber tires for about $80.

I use the plastic wheel version for wintertime salt spreading and just throw them in the back of the truck.

A little usage here and there with the fert shouldn't harm your spreader.

It also has a little lever so you can block off one side and not spray fert all over the drive, sidewalk or street.

I went ahead and bought the Scott's Edgeguard Pro with the tires, not the plastic wheels. I won't be beating the thing to death, just walking around the yard with it. If it breaks after one year then I guess I learn my lesson and spend a little more next time.

You should be fine. I've been using cheapy ones forever. I haven't had one go bad in under 10 years.
