Tom7227
Could you put down Preen in areas where you have a crabgrass problem for a bit more selective application of the pre-emergence herbicide? I just got a container of Preen for my wife's flower garden and in reading the label I started to wonder about it. I have patches of crabgrass that need to get dealt with rather than the entire yard. I am not sure about the relative cost issues. I live very close to a lake and so my interests are mainly aimed at limiting runoff. If I can effectively put down a bit of Preen with it's trifluralin component it seems to me to make more sense than to put the dithiopyr all over the entire yard. Another benefit would be the ability to spot seed an area in the spring and have a chance of success.
pureinsanity
what kind of Preen? Preen doesn't effect plants that are rooted in. It only stops the growth of new weeds.
