Zoom in on side imaging - grainy picture

I just bought the Humminbird 798ci HD SI unit and I'm still learning how to use it. When you see something interesting on side imaging, you move the cursor over to that spot and zoom in. But it becomes very grainy. Any tips on making this clearer?

Stepping up to the next unit is about all you can do. The 798 only comes with a regular definition transducer, all the others come with High Definition transducers.

How fast is your scroll speed? Run it about the speed you are traveling and see if that makes a difference. For instance 3 mph scroll speed 3-4. Most people run it to fast. It will clear up the detail. It's not the same as sonar reading that you run at 10. Your reading a lot of info on side imaging.

If you zoom your going to get grainy... much like if you over zoom on a photo of anything..
