One more please, bad week! 99 Honda Accord battery?

Recommended Posts

Got home last night late and had to clean walleyes from Cut Foot Sioux, wife tells me the car will not start and it is in the Target Store parking lot.

We get to the car, and sure enough, all I get is a the rapid repeated clicking sound. The more I turned the key on and off the slower the clicking became and it appeared to run down the battery. Radio works but the car will not crank. I hook up the jumper cables and the car starts right up. The car is on its second battery and this one is at least 4 years old (maybe 6). Does this sound like the symptoms of a bad battery? Thanks again!

Yup....or poor connection at battery, ground, or starter. "Average" battery life is usually estimated at 5-6 years, especially in Minnesota, so you're in the ballpark.

Definitely sounds like the battery is low on juice.

Bad connections at the battery will usually alow everything to turn on until you try to start the car. Then everything will go dead. Eventually power will return and the cylce repeats when you try to start again.

A poor connection at the starter will typically not give you a repeated clicking.

What brand of battery are you using?
