waxworm09
I am the one who had the post about wanting to adopt a lab from the humane society. I did happen to find a 1 year old purebred English Setter and am thinking about getting her instead of a lab, but I was just wondering if they are much for waterfowl hunting? I have done some research and it looks like they are great for upland, but not much info if they can or cant do waterfowl. Im mainly interested in pheasant anyways, thats about 80 percent of my hunting to 20 percent waterfowl, but I would like a dog thats capable of early season duck hunting. Should I look into her a little more or find a lab??
Ice Shack Baby
We have two English Setters in our house. One will swim in the water and the other tends to stay away. If you are dead set on using a dog for duck hunting, I would go the lab route. Their coat is more suited for the water and weather.
