Wide spool spinning reels, which is best?

Balto

Question

Hey, how's it going? I'm just wondering if anyone has had a chance to use the wide spool spinning reels like the U.S. reel supercaster, Pflueger arbor, and Lew's LFS speed spin. If so, how do they perform, which is the best one, and are there any more like them?

Here are some links to the reels:

Thanks!

I can't comment on the other ones, but I bought a Pflueger Arbor last year and was happy with it. No problems, seemed to cast well, and I don't remember any line problems (I think I was using Power Pro). I only use a heavy duty baitcaster on my Pike/Musky rod, otherwise I prefer spinning gear, so it seems like a good option.

Good Luck!!

+1 on the Pflueger Arbor. I've got one loaded with 10/4 Sufix 832 and it pitches / casts as advertised. Not something essential, but very nice and it'll add some distance if you need long casts. Haven't tested out drag on a fish yet, but then again I back reel most times if fish is big. Very happy with the Arbor. good luck...
