Merc 1350 Acceleration problem

I have an older Mercury 1350 (135hp) motor which I rebuilt last year. Only problem is when I accelerate hard or even mid way from idling, it stalls then sometimes it kills.
I checked timing it seems ok (not much to change). When I am at higher rpm than idle it runs much better, just mainly to get out of the hole that has problems.
I know this might be too technical for this forum, but I might try.

How's it goin' Valv. I had a similar problem that turned out to be fuel intake. The mechanic said problems like that are usually fuel or air intake problems. Hope that gives you some ideas.

It sounds like a timing problem, but you could try messing with the air screws on the carbs.
