Not a totally fullfilling weekend.

My goal this weekend was to photograph sharptail grouse dancing. However, when the show is over by 7:30 a.m. and you have nothing but dark and dreary clouds hanging over you, you really can't expect much in the way of acion photos. This one was shot at ISO 2500. Also, this lek had way too many weeds between the blind and the birds. It was far from ideal. I'll choose a different location next year. At least I got a few keepers at Crex Meadows, including my first sighting of a Red-necked Grebe.

That's too bad the dancing grounds/ weather conditions were conducive for you but that is a risk you take each time you head to the blind though.

I love that Red Necked Grebe shoot though! Definitely a keeper!!
