im guessing you're talking about ice-out bodies.. not streams.. i have.. this current weather we've been having has been pushing the pannies in and out of the deep and shallows.. on day they're hitting the next day they are gone.. every other cast a fish.. and then 5min later.. nothing..

Last year I found a little lake that produced thousands of 3-5'' pannies, a catch on every cast, and it was a great place to practice fly casting.

Day after ice out, I couldn't resist wetting a line. I didn't catch a darn thing, but I did see four or five dead LMB and northern pike.

I stopped by again last week, zero pannies but my girl did have out a crawler and picked up a tiny bullhead. I stopped by again just to have a look-see, but again I couldn't spot any sunfish in the shallows.

My guess is that there was a bit of a winterkill, but I'm sure the pannies are still there and just aren't in within casting distance from shore.
