Recommended Posts

I just picked up the new Ranger a few weeks ago.

Looking to make the frist oil change and was wondering your thoughts are on going right to Amsoil? 0w-40 ?

Someone told me that new macines should not use synthetic oil?

Have any of you ever heard this?

Been running it my older machine for 6 years and no problems?

Thanks

"25 hours or 1 month"

I may have miss read the manual?

Every new motor I owned I have always changes fluids shortly after I have put some time on them, usually well before the recomended time.

My thought is you never know what went into it during assembly?

It's an old tale that new machines shouldn't use synthetic. Polaris comes filled with synthetic from the factory. My old Bombardier DS650 was also filled with synthetic.

This "someone" is giving you bad information. Your best source of info is the owners manual.

I would make sure that you have 10 or 20 hours on it, I don't know why the 1 month would matter. You will get a lot of metals on the drain plug for the first couple oil changes, so don't be alarmed.

I wouldn't waste your time and money on Amsoil!! Polaris and Amsoil is made by the same manufacture, Lube-Tech!!

I know Polaris oil is made by Lube-tech, but where did you get information that Amsoil is blended by them? I don't believe this to be true.

You don't have to and I didn't either until a LT sales rep said it at a dealer meeting.

Even if this is true it doesn't mean they are the same thing just because they are blended at the same place. All Lube-Tech does is take the recipe and mix it up.
