Wish-I-Were-Fishn
Anyone using one of the Hobie Mirage boats? They look pretty sweet. Keeps your hands free to fish.
ted4887
I've seen one in action before, and when I asked the guy how it was he just raved about it. If I had the cash, it would be at the top of my list. Hobie makes an excellent product.
MN BassFisher
Yeah, they do look like pretty sweet boats! Also, if I had the cash I would probably be in one. The only negative I can think of besides price, for me, is the weight. I'm by myself a lot (no friends with yaks - YET), so loading could be a bit harder. Chode2235
People generally love them, but they are a bit heavier. Also, some of them (mostly the outback and sport) are a pain to paddle with a traditional paddle. The Revolution is probably the most versatile of their boats.I have 'paddled' in an outback a couple times and absolutely love it.I would also look at the Native Watercraft boats too. They also have some that you can peddle, as well as mount a regular trolling motor, or a specially designed one too. If I were in the market for a fishing kayak (rivers and small lakes) it would be between the outback and the Ultimate 12.5.
ted4887
If you've got the cash for the Hobie, check out the Ocean Kayak Torque. It's got an actual trolling motor, and you can paddle too.
