Mitch filled his Otter tag today!

Recommended Posts

Mitch and I got up early yesterday morning to do a little turkey scouting for next weeks youth hunt. Man we heard and saw the birds. We checked 5 spots and heard or saw birds at all. So as we're driving back home we decide to check a few lakes to go fishing. We're driving past a small lake and notice an otter come up on the ice at an outlet and start chowing down on a sunfish. We watched him eat it then go back for another. We headed for home and grabbed a few traps and decided to set them out just before dark. We found a pinch point in the outlet with enough water to submerge better than 1/2 the 330 and hoped we'd find something in the morning. We headed out about 8 this morning and found this big male. Now he wants to head out and throw in a few beaver sets. Maybe we'll throw in a couple next Friday.
