This Is It. Do or Put Away

Well it looks as if this weekend will be the last of the last for ice fishing in the metro. Minutes from heading out for what I feel will be the last time. Been hitting it hard all week with nothing to show but nice big red bars swimming away on the Marcum LX5. They have been tough this week but with this front moving in the bite should be good after sunset. 2' feet of good ice and nice un used access on a little north metro splash of water has made for a good last crappie run over the year on the ice. After tge rain/snow coming I think this will be it and I am hoping for some of the slabs to feed this time. Been out 4 times and the 5 th is the charm I am betting. Anyone else still fishing in the metro?

Spent 5 hours on Centerville today caught 50 sunfish not a good one in the bunch. Got a George Hamilton type tan.

I spent the day on Cedar Lake today.

I was nice to get out one last time,Ispent the afternoon putting things away.

Yeah, I hit Christmas lake this afternoon, caught 1 little potato chip crappie.

ice near shore was really getting soft, compared to when we went out.

This rain in the forecast for tonight and next weeks temps will probably kill it. I think I saw some high's in the 50's next week, and barely anything below 32.

Out on Lake Sarah today. Really slow till about 4:30. Then picked up ~20 slightly larger than hand size from 4:30-7, threw back another 20 I'd bet. Not all fish are in the pic, my dad had a couple in his bucket yet

Hit Medicine yesterday and caught quite a few small crappie. We had to use an extension ladder to get to the ice. I had wadders as well. I am done. Maybe next weekend the boat will be in the lake

Fishing out in WI and the lakes have plenty of ice.

Drove the truck out on Leech on Saturday, plenty of ice.

Fishing my favorite west metro lake this past week, sunnies and crappies are bitin like crazy. Was out late yesterday for about 2 hours , caught about 80 (about 35 nice keepers). Hope to get out one more time this week.
