removing swirl marks

When I looked at the truck I ended up buying, the paint was fine. I went to pick it up a week later (out of town) and the first sunny day I noticed big swirl marks from where the dealer "detailed" it.

Will these swirl marks disappear if I take it somewhere to have it professionally buffed or am I stuck with it like this?

As long as the clear coat hasn't been damaged all of the way through it should be fine to buff out.

Get a bottle of 3m perfect it and you could hand rub those swirl marks out in about the same time it would take you to hand wax.

Must be a black or dark color? They would have really of had to bummed it up if it was a light color. Most likely they was their prior and it was just clean and in the right light (any sun light with black) or it could have been the dealer.

Meguiar's Mirror Glaze Number 9 and a low RPM orbital (after watching some YouTube and experimenting of course), a micro fiber "clean", as unused, buffing pad and use clean microfiber clothes for clean up. DO NOT DO IT in direct sunlight and preferably at night in well florescent lit garage. If your lucky it would be cool and raining outside. Do not let it it dry up and work in square yard areas to spread out the arch of the re-swirl. Tighter the area buffed, tighter the swirl and easier to catch light and catch the human eye. The polish/glaze if allowed to dry acts like sand paper on black or dark colors. Clean & to the extreme before and California Dust broom as you go. Do not have any dust or clean with degreaser prior. Avoid soup altogether or rinse and dry after a soap application.

If it is black most likely your chasing a dream unless you bring into a well known detail shop for them to attempt. When the swirl marks happen (first wash with a brush involved or detail went wrong) to get them out you need a balance between applied pressure, amount of glaze applied and the correct R.P.M. buffer speed or you remove them but leave a trail behind. Hand buffing most likely will just make the swirls tighter and worse so work

Always tough switching something you were able to "prove" yourself on when an endless supply of program cars was at your beck and call. I sure do not want to offer my vehicle up to test something new and most people who you ask are the same about their vehicle.

Nope, it is logged into my mental file now. I am stocking up on some of my detail products and always looking. 3M was always expensive but they are the ones behind the product the swirl marks are seen on.
