Big Problem

I have a Dell computer about 8 years old, had the graphics card replaced a couple of years ago. My husband uses this one for just the internet, all of a sudden the screen resolution has set itself to 4 bits and looks like it would if you booted it up in safe mode. Each time I try to reset the resolution to 32 bits it refuses the setting and goes back to the 4 bit setting (I think that is around 480x600). Any ideas?

Off first instinct id say graphics card is shot. Have you reloaded the drivers?

Reboot, then reinstall the drivers.

If that doesn't work, I'd say the card is capooy.

Most likely corrupt drives, reinstall the drivers. Most of the time when a card goes, it really goes. Not to say they never still work a little most the time it is just poof and no video.
