Had the starter rebuilt on the Panther. Cranks the engine over real well but sometimes the starter will not shut off even with the ignition switch off. It will run for 10 seconds or more before it quits. any thoughts?

I had a 660 Turbo St (4-stroke) that did the same thing. turned out to be the ignition switch itself ... once replaced everything was fine. Oddly enough, I had the same thing happen with my outboard boat motor the same year ... same resolution - new ignition switch.
