Does anyone know anything about the Skandic or the Widetrak..? I see these sleds have a low gear. I was wondering if these would be up to the task.?

They would be your best bet. They are hard to find used though as there really arnt that many out there.

I pulled a 6.5x16 ice castle about a mile with a 2001 polaris 700 a few yrs ago but wouldn't recomend it if you can avoid it. Now I built a 7X12 house that is 100 % aluminum so its lighter, but the biggest factor is axle placement, this house is balanced real nice so its not as tongue heavy, good for snowmobile but not ideal if your going to pull it 100 miles to a diff lake every weekend. I also made ski's that are 14 in wide and 6 ft long so ground press is minimal.
