otis32
What is the best pair of tracks to put on my 2011 400 ranger? Would like to use year round , but mostly winter. Can the 400 handle them ok?? Thanks for any info??
aczr2k
I know I'll get flamed but a 400 is too small for tracks.

magnum mike
I asked the "experts" at the Duluth sport show this weekend. I have a 700 Ranger and they say tracks will make my machine sluggish in heavy snow. I would think twice about putting tracks on a 400. Dave
Ran tracks on a Rhino a few years back and while top speed was reduced, it wasn't sluggish, IMO. Went through a ton of snow and over snow banks above my waist. The tracks really kept it up on top. Same with my
Transporter
Was at a sportshow in Oregon last week and saw a different type of track set up, google 4orce tracked vehicles. They looked fairly simple and was told you loose no power or speed and they hold up very well, (tens of thousands of miles). They have been around for many years in use in this country by wildland fire crews, check them out.

fishingmedic
tatou 4s tracks, sure with the 400 you will loose some top end speed and in the higher gears you will not have the power that you once had with tires but they do fine. my brother is a linemen here in the midwest around he loss hills and have areas of lines that during the winter not a truck can get to and they had a demo honda 400 or 450 can't remember for sure that had a set on and loved them. Again not fast but plenty of power getting the equipment and the men to the area cause it stayed on top of everything, plus they played with it some after the work was done and he was very impressed with the climbing ablity it had. The actually ended up buying one. The more power you have the happier you will be cause you are used to tires and a bit more speed. good luck
iffwalleyes
The company I work for has a pile of these for both Rangers and Honda Big Red UTVs. The are awesome of course you loose speed but putting tracks on are not ment for speed. A 400 will be just fine. The polaris prospector tracks are heavier than the camoplast tatou that we have on the hondas and the camoplast seem to go betterh through deep snow. We actually do have track on a ranch 350 and it works awesome.
