Shoal Lake - guide

I will be spending time in the Kenora/Winnipeg area this summer and will have the opportunity to fish on some free days. I would like to fish Shoal and wondering if anyone has a recommnedation on a guide I could book some dates with?

Get ahold of Jeff Gustafson He is in Kenora and will put you on fish or set you up with a guide if he is booked Gussy is one of the best on LOW/Shoal

I will second Jeff Gustafson. Good friend of mine, and not too many can keep up with him. If you need a second option, Dave Bennet of wild access. He too knows Shoal/LOTW.

If you're asking *why* there isn't one, shouldn't that be a question for Lakemaster

Ya it should be but maybe some people on here would know.

I did talk to a lakemaster representative last year at the sports show. His comment was, due to Shoal lakes restriction on walleye fishing and highly suggested catch and release practices there are not enough people fishing shoal to justify the expense of surveying. It is a huge body of water and I would agree with his assessment.
