Best weedless setup?

I have a few fishing trips a year where I know I am going to be in the weeds with people that troll a bit fast. Curious... what is your favorite weedless setup that works well.

I am not the most experienced fisherman, but have been loving it for the past few years.

Fishing for what species? Northerns - Johnson Silver Minnow always good. Use white pork strips(Uncle Josh's) as trailers if you like. Rigging for walleyes? Use a bit heavier than average bullet sinkers, 6' leader and weedless #6 hooks for your leeches/minnows - the whole rig slides through most weeds pretty well.

Heartman had two good ideas.

Dynamite also works well to keep the weeds off your hook (but not so good keeping them out of the boat), and you'll know pretty quickly whether there are any fish in the weedbed. I'm not sure what kind of knot you'd want to use, though. grin

Long shank jigs with gulp rigged "Texas style" Where you put the hook through the first 1/4 inch of plastic, out, then slide the plastic minnow up to the jig head and then run the hook back in until it is just about to come through and leave it. This can be casted into the weeds and snap jigged back to the boat.

Northland Tackle has the weed weasel that is used with live bait and has two plastic hook guards. Their shacky head jig can be used for texas style rigging and will catch walleyes just as well as they catch bass.
