Alternative Live Bait

Guido

Recommended Posts

Heading up good ol' Highway 53 this weekend wandering if there are any specialty baits like redtails, or green nightcrawlers that are easier to get in the cities than up north in a little bait shop.

Or if anyone has any suggestions for any alternative live baits not mentioned!

Thanks in Advance!

Where are you headed?

Redtails should be easier to find further North than in the cities.

But let us know where you are going and we should be able to help ya.

My friends place is in Virginia, its a small lake somewhat close to there. Don't know the name off-hand.

The only bait shop I know of is the Lucky 7 in Virginia, and they only had the basics last time I was up thru there.

Hard to say without knowing where you're going. I'd call ahead to check on supplies although that's not a guarantee.

I got the last scoop of crappie minnows at a place west of St. Cloud on Sunday. They didn't know when they'd get another delivery.

There's a bait store called Fish Lake Bait at the Harris exit off of Hwy 35, just north of North Branch. I sometimes get my leeches there on the way up, so you may wish to check with them if you have exotic needs.
