Nope. Introduced Species. Introduced by a bunch of guys in Wyoming who had spent two days in a saloon dodging a blizzard.

They also tried to introduce the Double Breasted Bed Thresher and a hydraulic beer opener.

Most trout are introduced. Brown and rainbow definitely and there is much debate on how much "heritage/original" brook trout genetics are left. Back in the day before ppl gave a FlyingF about our streams the brook was close to being eradicated and they restocked with NYork brookies. If it were up to me they'd wipe out all the trout and dredge the streams so I can run my outboard at about 40mph...how scenic would that be? Maybe even a jetski...
