structurescan LSS-1 ?

WaveWacker

Question

Going to be hooking up my structurescan/LSS-1 unit. I fully understand the typical "yellow wire" question, but in contemplating a couple different options for my set up...I was wondering if the power to the LSS-1 is off, will my two units still share the regular sonar data?

Obviously currently the two units are networked via ethernet cable and with the LSS-1, will be conected through the LSS-1.

I'm 90% sure your units will not share info with the lss1 "off". I wired mine into my master power switch on the dash. It's always powered when I am on the water. To keep the structure scan transducer from pinging constantly when you are not using structure scan, simply select "sonar Off" option from the structure menu.

I'm more than 90% sure ...... more like 99% sure ..... that you won't be able to share data over the ethernet cables if they're run through the LSS-1 and the LSS-1 is turned off. My reasoning is that the ethernet expansion hubs need to be powered, and all those things do is allow multiple units to be connected through the ethernet cables.

I'd say connect the yellow wake-up wire from your LSS-1 to your main HDS and then you'll be good.
