Downhill Skiing/Snowboarding 2010-2011

Has anyone been downhill skiing or snowboarding lately? Anyone taken a trip out west or anywhere else? Many areas of the mountains have been getting pounded with snow this year. Let's hear your stories from this year.

I've only been out locally this year. I do have a trip planned to Lutsen with my daughter in less than two weeks. Looking forward to trying out the boardercross and the improved terrain parks.

Me and my daughter have only been to Mt. Kato and Hyland. Unfortunately we have been on a break since dad decided it was a good idea for a older, overwieight, haven't skied in 8 years to try the moguls? Suffice to say the knee is still healing. Like you RedLantern, me and the wife and daughter really want to get to Lutsen or Spirit this winter to do some "real" skiing.

Hey Chasin' Last year me and the kid hit Spirit Mountain on Sunday morning and then headed up to Giants Ridge for an overnight. Check out Giants Ridges HSOforum, they have some pretty dang good deals if you stay on a weeknight. Think we'll try that again in March.

Went up to Ande's Tower outside Alexandria this past Sunday in the blizzard. Skiing in fresh powder was nice until they shut down the place 2 hours early. That sucked.

Same kind of thing up at Spirit Mountain, high winds forced them to shut down the lifts. Bummer to have to do that but probably a wise choice.
