How to NAVHDA and Hunt Test guys have only one definition?

What is the definition?

Generally the type of dog that people want to produce varies on where they live, what & how they hunt, their own opinions and the requirements/standards for the dog games (hunt tests, NAVHDA, field trials, run & gun contests, etc.) they are playing.

There are many that will argue why improve top notch dogs. Just maintain them.

I had a coach tell me once, if you are not improving, you are getting worse. I think that is the theory here. Why wouldn't we all want a better hunting experience? Everything is improving, ask the Irish setter what happens if you stop trying to improve...

At the end of the day what we "non-breeders/consumers" can do to improve breeds is be educated. Pride yourself on due diligence and research when investing in a pooch. The more educated we are as consumers the more honest it will keep breeders.
