battery power

just got a good deal on a house, but is set up for batteries and have no experience with them.

can someone chime in on how long a battery will run two lights......... small tv/dvd.......new laptop......what size of an inverter do i need for these.....thanks

I'd say you could get by on 500 watts, but you could jump up to 1,000 to be safe and have room to expand.

All depends on the battery. I run on battery during the day. I use a 400 watt inverter and have tv, dvd player or radio and aqua view camara. I must be close to max because sometimes it trips the breaker. I would go with a 800 or 1000 to be safe. I use my generator at sunset until I go to bed. I charge the battery with the generator while its running and the battery will last three days, never stayed out longer than that. I have a 1 yr old marine battery. The older the battery the less time it will last between charges.

The bigger you go the better cause then you can run more stuff off of it. You can never have 2 much power. I would say anytime that you are not using the battery i would say to charge it up.

if you can get 2 6 volt batteries will out last the 2 12 volt

get a deep cycle battery not a car battery. The deep cycle lasts longer. It doesn't have enough power to start your car but you don't care. If you want to stay out longer you can get a solar panel for around $130 from Northern Tool that will keep you going.
