StrikeMaster Problem.....

BrdHunter01

Question

I fired up my auger last week and my 10" blade wouldn't turn. It started by turning really slow and slowly got faster but not nearly fast enough to cut a hole. Anyone know what this could be? Thought I would get some ideas before I contacted StrikeMaster....

Thanks

That does seem a little odd having problems that soon for a strikemaster. i have had my 10" strike going on 8 years now only thing i have done is change the blades. still have the original spark plug in it and i use mine a lot. does the motor sound like its working hard or does the rpms go wild?

I have noticed that my Strikemaster hasn't been running with enough RPMs. I replaced a broken throttle last spring. Now I realized that the throttle isn't opening up enough, there is a lever under the motor that I can press to increase the RPMs.

My guess is I didn't properly install the throttle. Does anyone have a picture or diagram of how to install a throttle on the Strikemaster 2000?

My strikemaster had rpm issues last year. I realized that I installed the fuel line on top of the linkage, (after cleaning), and it was binding - preventing it from raising the rpm and thus not rotating the auger. Hopefully, you have something that simple.

Mine also wasn't getting enough rpms and barely turning the blade. It turned out I have a screw, that acts as a govener i guess? Maybe? Didn't make much sense to me but somehow in got screwed in closing the governer or something? They charged me 15 bucks and somehow they ran almost a whole tank of gas through it. I brought it in full and got it back almost empty but she runs great now.

All SM's have a long brass governer screw on them. I think in my manuel it says not to adjust it, but I have heard of guys doing it. I'm sure it could move and go out of adjustment once in awhile?
