TravP
I need a new set of tires for a 2004 z71. I'm looking at either the nitto terra grapplers or the goodyear wrangler at/s, which is what I have right now. Anybody have any thoughts on these 2?Thanks
LMITOUT
I have never owned the Nitto's, but in researching tires a few months ago I found a fair amount of people that do have them who said that they are a soft rubber and don't wear as well as others. I really didn't care for the looks of them either.
Ufatz
Easy call: go with the Wranglers. They have been around a long time,, have a decent reputation and have a fine warranty etc.Why be a pioneeer?
Tator2k
I've had Wrangler AT/S and RT/S tires on past trucks and I've always liked them. Currently, I have Terra Grapplers on F150 and I like them as well.
Tanker
I have had both tires and currently have the Nitto's. Love them. no they don't come with a warranty but i know 2 guys that have gone 60,000+ i have about 25,000 and they look great to me. For the price i would go with nittos.. quickfish6
The wrangler at/s tires do not have a a mileage warranty.. I would rather go with the Wrangler Silent Armor's. They carry a 50k mileage warranty and I have seen a couple sets go farther than 65k mileage.
dougger222
I bought the Excursion with the Wranglers and they did not last very long. Have a set of the Grapplers on the F250 right now and they have a fair amount of tread left at 50K miles. If you want to go all out buy Michelin. Got a set on the dually and they are amazing. Have had very good luck also with BFG all terains and have had horrible luck with Ravo's. Between two sets of BFG's on the F250 landed me 150K miles. From my experiance I'd say the Nitto Terra Graplers are not the best in snow/ice. It's been several years since running the Wranglers but want to say they may handle the wet stuff better. The Graplers have to many large knobs on them, too much surface area... MJBaldwin
Nitto's are a very good looking tire but they dont last long at all. I just bought the bridgestone dueler at revo 2's and they are great in snow or on a highway.
