You can get some really good fruitcake and some really bad stuff, but usually nothin inbetween. Had some phemomenal fruitcake from the Cold Spring Bakery tonight. Rich, yet light and cakey/crumbly with pecan and quality fruit/brandy. Man, good eats. Anyone make their own? Would you like to share your recipe? grin

I prefer to make Pannetone if I am in the fruitcake making mood. It is a sweet Italian bread flavored with vanilla and citrus that incorporates dried fruit, like raisins and apricots and maybe some candied orange peel.
