FINDING OMC STARTER & ALTERNATOR PARTS

Recommended Posts

Since I can ill afford to have what I'm sure would be a very expensive procedure done at a dealer, I plan on installing these myself. What I need is a good site to buy these from that won't charge me my life savings and my first born child. Also need a manual for my motor. It's a 85 Johnson 25 HP outboard. Would also appreciate any advice for doing this procedure and for any pitfalls I might encounter. Tusan tak!!!!!!!!!

Well, it's not going to be easy but...."doable".
Alternator is called "rectifier". just in case you have to ask.
I would find a blown motor locally or on hsolist and rob parts to it. You will need starter, solenoid, and electrical harness.
At dealer they will ask more than life savings and 1 child, you'll have to give up 2nd child and possibly rights to wife for few days a week wink.gif

twin citie outboard--good source, but watch the prices.
if you are anywhere close to brainerd-walker area, maybe try tim's outboard in hackensack.
if you can't find the number, maybe give me a email, and i think i might have it.
good luck.
