MJ1657
My spearing buddy is 10 and is wanting to spear a pike. What do you guys suggest for her to use of the two spears I have. I have a light weight 5 tine spear or my heavier 7 tine spear. I think she could control the five tine a little better but i'm worried it will be to light to penetrate well if she does not throw it fairly hard.I won't have her try until it would be an ideal straight down shot. Laska
cool 1000posts anyway a heavier spear for penetration because she's young and there is more tines if her aim is a little off, it should give her the confidence to continue to spear for years to come. Instead of taking the chance of a shake off or plain missing because she was a little off. Jusat my 2 cents worth...
bassNspear
there is alot of different spears out there that will work. Your not going to want to get to heavy, becusae she will feel uncomfortable, but yet enough that will help her with throwing it. Just get a mid size spear that has at least 7 tins on it, and you will be fine! Move the devoy higher up in the water, so its not such a long throw as well!Good luck
MJ1657
She has a ton of experience in the house watching. We will have to see what happens at the gtg. Maybe her first pike!!!!!
