What is the best way to mount a Humminbird 788c in a single console boat?

That unit comes with HBs quick-release twist-swivel mount which integrates the cables right into it. Best thing to do is to use that mount and put it right on your console.

Can I mount another mount up front so I can use one unit in two locations?

You can buy another mount, power cable, and transducer to put on the front of your boat, then move the 788 head unit between the 2 locations. We've worked with quite a few guys who've done that.

What about the GPS cable?

The only ones we have worked on have been internal antenna GPS units, so no need to worry about an external antenna or GPS cables.

HB lets you share an external GPS through their Interlink module, so I think you'd have to get that ..... the GPS antenna connets to the Interlink module, the Interlink module has cables that go to each of the mounts.

Ya, I was wondering how well it would work in two locations. Not sure I'm going to keep it. Probably wait till spring and get the internal antenna version instead.

perchjerker, not tyring to hijack this, but im thinkin of using my 788ci

in my truck this winter for ice fishing, just for the gps, do you sell just the mounting bracket and power cable? and would there be any issues with using this unit in freezing temps? and one more thing could i run it off a 9amh battery?
