Crayfish

I know when I was growing up we used to catch tons of them on Mille Lacs at my grandma's cabin.

I see that Cub now carries them - a lot easier.....Cub in Brooklyn Park even had them already cleaned by the pound....

Mille lacs has tons of them by the concrete accesses.

Me and my buds have been in this debate for a few years as to if a fella could throw out a couple crayfish traps while fishing and then go back and pick them up. Having been to New Orleans I can attest that they are some fine eating. Anybody out there do any crayfish trapping for food?

Any one know of some good lakes that have a good population of crayfish around the St Cloud or surrounding area? i would prefer lakes with good water clarity or not too mucky. i think it would be easer to trap in clear water and would feel better about eating them. might be a little early to be thinking of this but who knows?
