Marcum 825c Vs Marcum 825SD

peterson99

Question

The main differences I have seen regarding these two models.

825sd has that the 825c:

Switches between color and b&w.

On screen temperature and depth.

Now the 825c is still color and $300 less. Anyone have thoughts on are these two differences worth the extra $300?

don't you mean the 625sd?

I think that one was 400 and 500 between color and B&W at Cabela's on Saturday.

Top one is listed $550, bottom one listed $700

I was looking at the 625 in the store on saturday, the display was smaller but it would be enough.

There's really 3 key differences .....

Most obvious is the 825SD has a menu option allowing you to use it as a color camera or as a black/white camera. So you can fine tune to your viewing conditions. The all-color cameras like the 825c will gray out or brown out when the light conditions get too dark.

Another key difference is the monitor on the 825SD, it's 3 times brighter than the previous monitors, so it can easily be viewed in daylight conditions, like outside yourshack on the ice, or in your boat on open water.

And, the 825SD has an upgraded Sony camera in the water, which captures a better image with less light.

Couple other things --- as you mentioned the new 825SD has more on-screen info, including camera direction. And the 825SD comes with a free camera panner, a $50 remote control device that holds and turns your camera for you.

Hope that helps. You can check them out at Ice Cameras At Pro Fishing Supply if you want.
