Lake of the Woods Opener

My dad has scheduled a trip over Memorial weekend to LOTW, near Angle Inlet. I live in Omaha, Ne and it is about a 12-14 hour drive with a boat. I heard it will still be cold that far north. Is the fishing going to be good enough to make this short trip worth it?

I'd go if I was you. It's typically pretty darn good. I'll be up there for the Governor's Opener and am looking forward to it. LOW is loaded with fish and there all over the place.

I would go also. On Memorial Weekend, even up in the angle, you could get 70 degrees and sunny or 35 degrees and flurries. You should have a good trip regardless of the weather. (Just bring warm clothes)

Does anyone know what the water level is like on lake of the woods?
Two years ago it was as high as it has ever been in early july, last year it was about as low as it has ever been.

Looks like the level is coming up a little but pretty much the same level as last July. They did receive 1+ inches of rain yesterday. Hopefully the level comes back to "normal".
Good luck on Memorial Day weekend. Should be a good time to target post spawn eyes.
