Recent email from Todd Hansen (author of Wisconsin Guide To Improved Trout Waters}

"...I'm shooting you a quick note (with my writer-publisher hat on) to let you know that recently retired WDNR fisheries supervisor Dave Vetrano has agreed to be my co-author for a new book entitled Map Guide to Improved Trout Waters of Minnesota and Iowa.

TU recently roasted Dave in Viroqua, and that got me thinking that he would be a perfect person to help me identify improved trout water sites in these two states. I hope you will bring this upcoming book to the attention of your members at your next TU meeting. This book will be a great way for Wisconsin trout fishers to identify spots where they can fish between October and March.

You can also tell your members that my little map book company will be placing a pre-publication offer in the January Wisconsin Trout like I did with the Wisconsin book. Those who order early will get a 10% discount -- "5% for you, 5% for the Friends of Wisconsin TU." They'll never get the book cheaper, and this will also help support our WITU Friends program."

Use Hanson book very little. HI areas are usually overrun with anglers, and many have special regulations restricting bait anglers. Now in Michigan we have "flies only" water.

MN HI maps are already here, at least fairly current. I guess if you want the GPS corrdinates, buy Hanson's (and Vetrano's) upcoming book.
