Hard case for Lowrance HDS7 (with pics)

311Hemi

Question

I picked up an HDS7 this summer and wanted more protection for the unit and something easy to carry for when it was not in use, sitting in a harbor, or trailering.....this is what I came up with. Just thought I would post it here for others in case someone was looking for something cheap and easy! BTW, it fits in there perfectly tight with the Johnny Ray swivel mount still attached to it, and does not move around at all.

This is a case from a Dewalt palm sander. I just cut out a small section of the little storage bay inside for the HDS7 to fit into, and the walls in the middle of it that held the sander in place. I can also carry my GPS and other small electronics in this case as well. I usually keep a moisture attractant of some sort in there.

Sorry for the blurry pics....my future fishing partner likes to keep me on my toes and get things done in quick manner!
