s10 blazer 4wd.

Recommended Posts

i recently replaced destroyed a cv joint on my blazer so i removed it and ran it with the passenger side cv shaft removed for about a week, i have it replaced now and it is extremely picky about going into 4wd, i have it narrowed down to the linkage that goes to the front differential with both right side tires off the ground it goes in with some fiddling around with the 4wd stick but going down the road it takes a good ammount of time to finally pop in and come out. could it be that the fluid in the front diff is low? im just worried its not going to work and one of those i think i can make it will turn into i cants.

the actuator is under the battery. It is vacuum controlled and when engaged it pulls on the actuator cable and egages the front axle. It looks identical to the old GM cruse control actuators. You should be able to push on the front of it and get it to in and out easily. If it doesn't than I would suspect the cable is binding up. If it does I would check the vacuum supply from the transfer case. When the 4x4 is engaged there should be an ample supply of vacuum to the actuator.
