question from the technologically challenged

so my plan is to hook up either 3 tv's or monitors in my storefront window and run video to it at night when we are not there. would like to use the downloaded vids from my computer. i would assume there would be some way to directly hook up the computer, but would it be possible to use a stand alone dvr? can you take a dvr and record downloaded material from your computer and create a playlist. related to this is there anyway to record you tube videos and incorporate those into the playlist either on the computer or dvr?

Umm, not sure about the DVR or what file format it uses but it may be possible on some of the better models. Using a computer would be far easier, albeit more expensive. A would use a graphics card that has an HD component out (as component video is much easier and cheaper to split than HDMI).

There are a number of ways to download youtube (and other flash) videos but the most intuitive would be a browser extension that allows you to right click and download them. Otherwise you have to view page info, determine the video source, than download directly from the video source.
