Pheasants in north-central IL?

I may be visiting family in north-central IL (think LaSalle County and surrounding) over Thanksgiving and would be there for several days. I'd like to get in some hunting, either pheasants or geese over fields. I don't have many contacts to try and find farms to hunt, but are there any public lands worth trying or good ways to go about finding a farm(s) to hunt when I won't be in the area until then? Maybe other options? Thanks.

Guess nobody hunts ducks or geese in Illinois anymore.

I'd even consider spending a little money for access or on a reasonably priced guide.
