steiger
looking for a little advice, i will be headed up to sand lake next week, and i see the lows at night are going to get down into the mid 20's. so my question is what to do with my boat. leave it in or take it out at night????? talked to two diff boat dealers and they both had diff ideas. just dont want to freeze her up.Thanks Sam
Raider4ever
Keep the lower unit in the water. If it's open it's at least 33 degrees. Air temps get below freezing and your lower unit is exposed to the air, you get metal at that temp and you get freezing. Unless of course your boat could be stored heated overnight. Esox_Magnum
I use my boat in temps below freezing and as long as it's in the water and it's not icing up I don't worry. If you take it out at night lower the motor and let it drain and you'll be ok. Nothing like having 2 rods thawing out while your freezing up the 3rd LOL
