May be a stupid question, but can anybody send me a link of what a sonar (used for catching walleyes)looks like. I would appreciate it. Going to the river this weekend and heard that is what is hot and honestly have not heard of them before.

Thanks for the help.

Gerty, I'd bet you could go onto the hsolist fishing section and find a pic or 3.

Type in Heddon Sonar and you'll get some pics.

Other bladebaits are: Cicadas, Silver buddy's, Zip lures, and Gay blades.

Gerty- these things work great when the fish want them...like now. They will come in two basic sizes...1/4 and 1/2 ounce. They do make a real honker for super deep water that weighs an ounce or better, but you'd need a broom handle to use them. If you decide to try these, take a rod of fairly stiff action throughout the blank and use a line of no more than eight pound. This is where the braids will really shine for you. Tie a small clip to your line and clip onto the lure with that and be sure to use the center hole for attaching to the clip. Drop the rig to the bottom, take up the slack and give it a good "wrist snap" sort of jig....not a Roland Martin hookset. When it settles wait a second and do it again. These baits are a lot of work, but they do catch fish! Colors to get are chartreuse, orange, green, black, purple, if you can find it. The generic brands work as well as the Name brands, but both will require that you touch up the hooks. You do not add and meat to the hooks as it will mess with the action. And if you do buy some of these and get to a good walleye water on the ice, by all means try them there! Many a wallhanger has fallen to them during a hardwater period.

CrappieTom, thanks for the info. I managed to buy some at 4 seasons and fish at Redwing on Saturday. I was wondering about the clip. I tied mine on. Had no more than jigged about 10 times and hooked a fish. Then everything was gone. mad.gif I should have checked my line for nicks afther the ride to the river. Oh well, should have just thrown $4 over the boat to start my day frown.gif. Tied on another sonar and never caught another fish. We ended up catching all of our fish on green jigs and the berkley equivalent to a 3" green super doos. Nothing fast and furious but, not bad. Should have been deer hunting when the 10 pointer came trotting down the rivers edge. If he was smart he just went and laid down somewhere.

TG - you are right about the diapers and the trip to Cabela's wink.gif.

I highly recommend the Goggle Search bar download available at the Goggle site.

Besides being a great search platform it also has a very effective pop-up blocker. No extra junk, no mandatory this or that, just a very good search bar.

I have had absolutely no complications with it, no Explorer glitches at all. A really great tool guys!
